My car has a 7 1/4 axle, if i put an 8 1/4 in it, can i use the driveshaft or would i need one that is a different length?

If you can't get the drive shaft that came with the 8 1/4, assuming it's out of the same make, model and body style, you will have to shorten yours.
I was going to go that route until I cam across an 8 3/4 cheap.

Thank you for the input. I wasn't real clear on what i was doin, the car i bought didn'thave a driveshaft, and a 7 1/4 axle and my donor car had a driveshaft, but was an 8 1/4 axle, and i was going to see about using the driveshaft now and changing axles later. But i guess i will change axles now. lol
