I need some help deciding on which set of mounts to purchase. I see that there are several different design 426 Hemi conversion motor mounts available to mount the Hemi on a wedge k frame. Is one design better than another? Why?

I bought a set of conversion mounts from John Arruzza. The left side is solid which is not an entirely bad idea with King Kong under the hood. The placement is dead on, I hear some of the others aren't. If you plan on a shaker or airgrabber it could matter.

I was leaning towards the Arruzza style mounts. I like the idea of a solid mount on the drivers side, it eliminates the need for a torque strap and I'm not a fan of using a piece of chain to control engine torque. I haven't looked at Shumacher yet. Anybody else have any feedback?

I used Schumacher and they work fine as near as I can tell. They are also pretty solid mounts. You might not be able to fit an airgrabber because I think the engine placement is slightly different, a fraction of an inch from what I recall. I have Indy heads which are much bigger than Stage V heads and I don't think a standard Roadrunner hood would fit on my '69 either. I have an A-12 hood so it's a non-issue for me.

from previous posts the arruzza mounts fit closer to stock. they send a tiny bit more vibrations into the car, not that much, because of the solid mount on the left side.
i used shumacher mounts on my car, 72 road runner auto, and they worked. they mount the motor a bit, less than 1/2" to the passengers side, and about 1/2" higher than stock.
i have a 572 hemi, stage 5 heads indy single plane intake, and have a working air grabber hood. i had to modify the intake and the air cleaner but the air grabber hood works perfect.
one thing to keep in mind. it seems like no hemi bolts in without modifying making something to make it fit. even if you are using stock hemi stuff, repo hemi parts or conversion parts. you probably will have to finesse something to get everything to fit like you want it to.

I used Schumacher mounts when I dropped a 528 hemi in my 68 Coronet. Fit was great with no problems.
