Okay sorry to blow up the posts every other day. But if you don't know my dad taught me to always ask. I get my rebuilt 440 back Wed and was curious what I need to do as far as carb is concerned. I currently have a holley 750 that was rebuilt with bigger jets so it's actually around 780 cfm now. I also have the original carter carb from this engine that needs a kit. The car setup is 3.23 gears(open) and 727 auto. Car is 70 Satellite. Engine has been bored 30 over and has flat top pistons, lunati 6302 cam and 906 Heads.Engine was out of a 70 Newyorker originally. Steel crank. Before rebuild gas mph was horrible even with 2.76 gears. Will I loose performance if I drop down to an AVS carb or an Eddy 650? What do I need to do?

Jets don't increase the cfm. That is a function of the venturi opening. Larger jets increase fuel sipply which is probably why the milage was so bad. Down sizing to a 650 should give you better milage.

yes but you mentioned mileage and either of those will likely give better mileage. Dont have the details on your build but advancing the cam MAY help mileage and performance and is you timing curve maximized in all areas? The holley is rebuilt/ready
