Would stock HP springs be okay with the summit 224/234 cam? If not what springs would be ok? I have a set of HP springs. If I have to buy springs I think I may just go with the XE268 from Comp.
Now I need to pin those needles, got to feel that heat Hear my motor screamin while I'm tearin up the street

Stock HP would be around 90 seat 250 open and that would be fine--Comp 911 is a good one for that cam if you are going to raw hide it once in a while --they will not work with stock retainers very well as the diameter is slightly bigger---for just a cruiser go for it the lower pressure may give the cam and lifters a fighting chance--I like the Morel, brand of lifter and the latest sealed power brand are also way better than the Summit brand of lifter That is one GREAT street cam you will love it

GEEZ - get a set of springs and do it right or do you feel lucky? Some can get by . This is what happened with a 474 lift cam with stock springs on a 360. Granted it had short springs with rotators (a lot of 360's have them). Coil bind is not cheap. Plus your stock springs have how many miles on them????? Pictured is only partially showing the damage. A set of springswill be well under a hundred bucks so -------------
Clean it, if it's Dirty. Oil it, if it Squeaks.
But: Don't fix it, if it Works!

A lot of the single springs with dampers use the OEM retainer and keepers.
