When i use the six pack the idle stays up until i either drive for a while or turn it off. Today i took the breather off and it had a small amount of gas in and around the filter. What causes this? Thanks

Does it use the factory solenoid?

Well, art is art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water! And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now, uh... Now you tell me what you know.

Do you have the links adjusted correctly that connect to end carbs? They are set after base idle is set, so that they close end carbs.

Distributor weights not returning fast enough??
If the distributor stays advanced on the weights, the engine won't want to slow down.
Anyways...just a thought.

Looks like the front and back carbs are putting gas out the top when they are used. Anyone know how to fix this??

Some stronger springs may be needed in the diaphrams of end carbs maybe. Opening too easily, or too soon. How does it feel on power? That sooty mess on bottom of air cleaner lid is common.

Sounds like multiple issues. What happens if you warm it up, then disconnect the outboard carb linkage and start it? Does it still idle high?
