I continue to chase down vibrations in my 340 Cuda with a 904 tranny. I am at the point of replacing the tailshaft bushing but neither Napa or Carquest has a part number for it, only the 727. Anyone know where I can get one?

I wonder if the later "500" OD trans has the same bushing.
Maybe a later year 904 application than your car would still be on their files?

If the bushing is bad, it may be the cause or it may have been caused by the vibration elsewhere!

U-joints worn
driveshaft dinged/kinked
pinion angle off
trans mount worn
lost balance weight off driveshaft or wheels
???

moparts does have some transmission people/businesses who should be able to supply one or advise more.

Transtar Industries carries them. Part number 12066.
Transtar part numbers can be crossed (and in many cases are the same) to just about any transmission supplier. To my way of thinking, this should be part of the rebuild kits.

Jon, I remember you talking about changing this a couple years ago, I found the tool I have to do it in the car if you need it.
