have two eddy 600s on stock 2x4 intake on street hemi. some mods intake end milled out/some carb work, runs well but dont have the 8 bbl snap of twin hollies, i know ill never have the throttle reponse of hollies. but want faster secondary engagment. thinking of grinding wieghted counter wieghts over 4bbls on both carbs, has anyone done this with sucess?

Much like machinists do on the crankshaft counter weights, I've drilled holes in the counter weights of a Carter AFB. I drilled too much out and then stuffed lead fishing weights in the holes to get it dialed in. It worked very nicely.

Getting the correct jet size, metering rods, vacuum plunger springs and accelerator pump discharge nozzels first is critical to success. I had to drill out the accelerator pump discharge nozzels to get one big enough.

1970 Plymouth 'Cuda #'s 440-6(block in storage)currently 493" 6 pack, Shaker, 5 speed Passon, 4.10's
1968 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible 408 Magnum EFI with 4 speed automatic overdrive, 3800 stall lock-up converter and 4.30's (closest thing to an automatic 5 speed going)

I've trimmed weights on a few of them. Not sure really how to describe it... but I removed about 8% off each weight on my truck, and about 10% on another one.

Well, art is art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water! And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now, uh... Now you tell me what you know.

I like drilling better than grinding, that way I can tap the hole and screw in a set screw if it gets too light.
