Hey all.

Ive been waiting nearly a whole year for AMD to release their challenger rear valance, and Ive just found out its goin to be at least another 45 days before they could be in production...
I've been happy with AMD so far, which is why Ive waited this long...however Goodmark has a valance, but Ive never dealt with them before. Anyone have a rear valance from goodmark? If so, how did it fit, where you happy with it??

thanks!

If you have the ability to alter some of the problem areas, basically the shape/angle were the corners attach to the qtrs, not a hard job for someone of moderate bodywork skill,...the valance is fine for use,...if however your of the type that expects it to jump out of the shipping box and install itself, you'l be disappointed

Will AMD be making a correct '70 style or the 73-74 style that is currently available now?

1970 Challenger Convertible soon to be T/A convertible

Contrary to the opinions of some, I am not dumber than I look.

IIRC,...AMD has 3 year offerings of Challenger valances slated for production, with a total of 5-6 variants (dual exh./non dual, etc)

I bought the Goodmark one. Not very good. My body shop quoted me 7 hours just to get it to fit on the car. If you look at some examples of restored cars on the net, you can see which cars have original valance panels and which ones are goodmarks. The biggest tell tail sign is the rounded parts at the ends. Original ones fit perfect, and the Goodmark panel is too rounded. I would either wait for the AMD or find a good used like what I did. Thanks Big Lou!

get an original

my body guy refused to use the goodmark one I bought for my old challenger. He said it would be quicker, easier, cheaper to fix my old one

Goodmark rear valance for Challengers is CRAP. I have installed one, and even after modifycing the ends (vlance is too wide) it doesnt look all that nice...the opening for the exhaust cutouts are really bad.

Its a bad piece, id get an original and fix it or wait for AMD.

If youare in a hurry just get a used one, even if it was some poblems and fix it.

Goodmark Challenger decklids are also CRAP-

I have a goodmark rear valance on my Challenger. I didn't install it personally, but my body guy didnt mention any issues with it. Also, whats the problem with their trunk lid?

Heres a pic of my Goodmark rear valance installed...(sorta hard to see it though)It looks good in person, but my car is not a show car, so for what thats worth...

Did you replace the quarters? I was told that the Goodmark valance will fit on Goodmark rear quarters. That doesn't help me when I have my original quarters still on the car.

My quarters are original as far as I can tell.

I would be really curious to see a close-up picture of the valance end where they meet up with the quarter panel.

Here is a pic of a Goodmark rear tailpanel. Check out the valance ends. It just doesn't look right to me?

AMD take so long beacuse there is no sense releasing one if it isn't any better than whats out there already... they get samples, modify them, send them back then get another sample with the changes..and so on and so on....this has happened several times with the cuda fenders also which is why they took so long. When it's acceptable they put it into production and at that point it's about 45-60 days away. If you're in a rush, buy a goodmark... bolt it on and replace it when the AMD comes out...

I bought a Challenger Goodmark dutchman panel and it's total crap - to big. It fits OVER the NOS one I have. Total garbage.

When I used one I ended up cutting off the ends from an original that was beat up and put them in place of the ends on the amd... it worked, but was alot of work to make a new part fit
