I have a 727 behind a mild 383 in a B-body. The trans. is supposed to have a"shift-kit" installed on its last overhaul.
Shifts like CRAP! lots of overlap, not real firm. Acts more like stock to me.
I have a couple Cheeta V/B `s since I run a Jerico in the racecar now.
Can you just install a Manual V/B?
Or is that death to an otherwise stock trans.?

If the trans is in good shape it will work fine. The 727's we use are basically stock TorqueFlites with a Turbo Action O/haul kit,T/A converter, valve body and a Mopar deep pan.

Nautilus Racing-
We use Superformance gaskets and Turbo Action converters/products.
