In 1969 what were the B-body 2 door post cars? I thought they were either Belvederes or Road Runners. I never remember a post 1969 GTX or Satelite. Did Belvederes and Satelites have factory dual exhaust or bucket seats?
Please list any reference material you know of.

All feedback appreciated

The 69 factory service manuel shows dual exhaust on Bel if equiped with 383, 440, or Hemi. Back then you could pretty much order anything you wanted.

Could there be a 1969 Belvedere post car, dual exhaust, 4 speed, 11 inch brakes, Front sway bar, Heavy springs with bucket seats. I thought the 440 was only in the A12 and the Vin stamp on the rad support is way to early for that to be?

Thank you

Is there a list anywhere that can tell you what a car is by the Vin stamped in Radiator support?

the 440 six barrel was only 440 option on Road Runner and Super Bee. Hell in 70 you could order a 440 six barrel in a Fury. At Don Garlits auto museum he has a 4 door with a Hemi. Factory original. I think it is a 67 Coronet.

Not unless someone somewhere has know of the VIN for a long time. Since it's a 69 St. Louis built car, I'd be interesting in knowing more.

Seeking:

1969 St. Louis plant VINs, SPD, and VONs.
Over 2,000 thanks to you!

Trunk rail Vin has the G9 then space and part of the first and last number. Rad Support has the 6 vin numbers but G9 is very light. Partial numbers in back match the rad support numbers and panels all look original with the same red paint underneath.

Thanks for imput so far!!!

I do not know how I will ever know if this body is a Belvedere or a Road Runner?

Only a Belvedere or Road Runner could be a post car in 1969. Since the Belvedere was the bottom of the line car, I doubt that it would have been built with all the equipment you mention unless someone was trying to get around paying a lot for insurance on a Road Runner.
The beginning part of the VIN# for a Belvedere is RL21, a Road Runner would be RM21 for a post car, or RM23 for a hardtop. Does it have a title, dash VIN tag, or Broadcast sheet?

Title and Dash Vin are RR. But they do not match rad support or trunk rail number. Dash vin is a lynch road car. Trunk rail shows G9 (St louis)car.
I already notified the state police and have an inspection scheduled.

It is not the car I am rebuilding now. It is a finished one my son just bought on the 6th of April. Someone puddied over the original rad stamp and stamped the dash vin numbers on and painted over it. He checked them before he bought it. But when he pulled the seal off trunk rail most were ground off. He then sanded on the rad support and found the originals.
