dynamat the regular factory style sound deadener is better than nothing but if youre trying to achieve a modern car quiet , there are a few substitutes for dynamat whatever u use should be flame retardant but u wont find them on hardware store shelves

there was a comprehensive thread that had alot of good alternatives several weeks ago if it can be retrieved. Dynamat is pricey but supposedly insulates well (I'm not up & running yet) but you just peel off the pad and it goes on like flypaper. It's real thin and you cut it w scissors and real easy to work with and looks like it will stay put

I've been happy with Hushmat
I bought the Summit branded deadner which is quite a bit cheaper than Dynamat. Turned out to be Hushmat in a re-branded box. Good stuff, very happy with it.

I buy the Hushmat locally from Classic Industries (the GM resto parts place)...I am a dealer there and found out I get the hushmat discounted too, so works out well
