If the ARP preferred moly lube isnt available, and you use regular oil. What do you guys do for torque specs? Same as whats called for?
Im installing main studs 90lbs. torqued but have no ARP lube..

CRC make an overgrown toothpaste tube of moly, i've been using mine for years. if i remember correctly the torque spec with oil is different than moly. ARP use to have all their torque specs with oil/moly written on the bottom of their head stud box. i kept the box for reference. what size bolt/stud you got?, i could go check the box.

ok, according to the bottom of the ARP box, if they're 170k studs it's 101/oil 84/moly. if they're 190k studs it's 122/oil 95/moly & if they're 220k studs it's 135/oil 105/moly. hope this helps.

hey reb, recheck the torque on the 170k studs,my studs show 108 for oil and 84 for moly. I have the same torque spec on the 190k and the 220k spec as you.

also this is for 30 wt engine oil.

Order the same lube as used during machining (align hone, rod hone, etc). Wait until FedEx delivers it. It is available, just wait.

yeah with close inspection with a magnifying glass they could be 108. since it's on the bottom of the box theres a bit of wear & it's a bit hard to read but you could be right.
