Pro Trans puts 904 internals in 727's for more speed. All of the 727 mods Cost$$$$. My friend and I have run 904's behind small blocks for years with no problems. He runs 10.70's with a trans brake in a lighter car and I ran 11.09 of the foot brake.

An easy way to tell the difference is the case/pan the 727 bulges out.
