Had almost everything working, signals, flasher, brake lights, dash lights and dome and map light from light switch and passenger door switch, but not driver door switch. Pushed the pin, pulled the pi and rotated the pin...... No more dome light, but the map light comes on when the driver door is opened. Success? NOT. Read another post about grounds and thought that might be the problem. The only one I could find was my battery cable(braided) to motor. So I get a new battery cable with a ground wire that I attached to the inner fender, main cable to block and attached a ground cable from the firewall to the back intake bolt. Now when I pull the flasher button, my map light flashes. HELP!!!

It operates with the map light now, but not the dome. It was painted over when the car was done by previous owner. I removed the switch and both wires were conected to the terminals.

make sure all your bulbs are correct, sounds like youve got the wrong wattage bulb and its back feeding!

In the beginning, only gas and amp gauges and lighter worked. Have seperate temp, oil and volt gauges that work. No dash lights, no dome or map light, no turn signals, no flasher and no brake lights. Replaced steering harness and 5 amp fuse at correct location and plugged in all dash lights. At that point, I had signals, flasher, brake, map and dome lights worked off light switch and passenger door switch, not driver door switch and no gas gauge. At night, noticed when I turned head lights on, the dash right signal light lit up for about 15 or 20 seconds, then went out but signals worked ok. I remember when I had dash out that the little round tube that fills the space on the right signal was not as tight as the left side and thought it might be glow from another bulb. Also noticed right side of dash was dim and found 1 bulb not working. Replaced with what looked like same type bulb I had from another rallye dash, I did not think or know there was a difference. I read another post about grounds and found I only had the battery to engine ground. Added a battery to radiator support ground and firewall to engine ground with no change. I pushed in the driver door switch and let it pop out, turned it back and forth and then had the map light flashing start when I pulled the flasher button. Both doors now operate the map light as does the light switch, but the dome light does not work at all. I have the seatbelt plugs disconnected and also the radio. No horn, there is no relay in the fuse box and the ground is cut at horn. And the volt gauge goes to discharge with key on and anything turned on. Goes to charge when engine is started.

No ground. Does it go from column to dash?
