I've got a 68 Charger R/T on which I'm doing a little cosmetic work in the engine bay. On the radiator support, there is the code B8X069751 stamped into the metal. I know the 069751 is the sales order number but any significance to the B8X?

B is the assembly plant - Hamtramck

8 is the last digit of the model year - 1968

X may be Charger, but I do not remember for sure?

Edit;

John got off the line quicker.

Thanks for the clarification. One other question: the coil bracket has a noise suppressor that is wired to the coil. The wire finally broke. Is this factory or should I blow it off? I suppose I could get a generic suppressor from any parts store.

That sounds like the supressor for your radio.
