Hi, I was thinking of using Manley race master valves in StageV Hemi replacment heads, however the valves are actually .090 thou longer than stock, I also like the idea of running lash caps on the small 5/16 tips for a bigger contact area with the rocker arm. My engine builder has only built 1 Hemi in the past and found the rockers to have a good contact area on the valve tip with standard length valves and is concerned that the exta length will move the tip further away from the rocker tip. Any imput would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The longer valves will give you some better spring choices if you are going with high lift.

Dvorak sells stands that move the rocker up, I think .100. That would work. Maybe. With Hemi rocker gear, you never know till you try it.

Here is the parts list for the FHO engine package. It shows Manley valves, Stage V replacement heads and lash caps used.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies so far.As far as stands I already have a set of fixed stands. From what I can work out you gain an extra .040 thou of installed height the other .050 thou has been added to the tip (.250 instead of .200 std)
Would it be possible to remove .050 thou from the valve tip since I will be running lash caps?
Because the valve seats are uncut in the heads would it be possible to get the seats cut a little higher to help reduce the extra long stem?

Might not be a bad ideal to call Tim at FHO. I think he buys valve blanks and cuts his own lock groove. Buying blanks allows him to order the proper lengths.

At first glance, cutting the tips and using a lash caps sound like it will work, but once you cut the tip you remove the surface hardness. Not sure if the cap will move around and mushroom the tip.
