I had initial good service when I bought my UCA and strut rods, they even let me borrow a tool to drill the small hole for the Heims joint. A couple of years later they were ok in providing tech info.

im sure they have overall good service, im just venting i guess, flustrated that i have wasted a week for nothing. if i didnt need the parts now i would not have ordered them. you would think with the economy like it is and people not spending the money on things of pleasure like racing that every order would be priority 1.

thats exactly what im talking about. i would have not been as upset if the whole order would have been misplaced somehow, but they got the money that day. which tells me that their priority was getting my money then getting the product to me was somewhere down the line of priority.oh well live and learn i guess.

Not to make excuses for the companies referred to, but like any other deal, as the # of people that are involved between taking and shipping an order increases, so does the opportunity for things to go wrong. Whether it's some specific communication that's needed (like a converter), or an illness, family emergency, facility problem, adverse weather, problem with another supplier in the pipeline, etc,
the real problem isn't always visible to the Customer. All the Customer knows is that his expectations aren't being met. Sometimes this is aggravated by the Vendor not wanting to (or not having the time to) explain his problem or appear lost/overwhelmed/unprofessional; unfortunately that's exactly what the Customer "sees". I don't think anything in business is as easy, simple, or straightforward as Customers perceive. It appears to me that some companies need better micro-management or a more pro-active Customer Service Dept. But you & I end up paying for that, as there's not always enough profit margin nowadays given the focus on Price.
I'm having the same problem with the guy that's a month late on my T-shirts; anink problem's understandable, but not replying to my email makes me nervous. Which then p*sses me off, which then means doing no more business there.

I'm surprised that they didn't ship your parts as promised; the several times I have used CAP products they came as promised. As to the credit card charges, most vendors charge the card immediately, because in fact it takes them several days to get paid by VISA, M/C, etc., even though the charges instantly show up on your account. Many vendors are now treating C/C's like checks and will not ship products till the card clears. I also have several friends with repair shops that will not start repairs on a car till the card clears, due to issues with not being credited by the banks in a timely fashion. You would think that with the banks computer links that C/C transactions would be completed at the end of the business day, buy unfortunately that is not the case. It also costs the vendor to accept a C/C - there are fees, usually several percent, that the banks charge the vendor to process the transaction.
In any case, I think that your parts not getting shipped as promised was an honest oversight, and not an indication of how CAP does business. As I said, the times that I have used their parts, they were good quality parts, and I received them as promised. Try not to let it spoil your fun, and good luck with your project.

Ordered an AlterK from Bill Reilly. Said it would take 3 to 4 weeks. Got phone call today, 3.5 weeks later, shipping tomorrow and was making sure CC number was correct BEFORE billing me. Hey I like that... NO charges until the parts go out.
