I'm working on my 74 Challenger and wanted to ask if anyone has some good recommendations on restoration facilities in the Fort Worth/Dallas area. Mainly interior/electrical work (wiring harness/Rally gauges/heater control/dash installation) as well as some painting/corrosion repair. I want someone who is experienced, accurate in their work, and strives for quality. My job and where I live only allow me to do so much on the car so want to explore other avenues to get some work completed. Thanks!

I will recommend Ward's in Krum, TX. Charles just completed a full nut & bolt resto of my '69 RoadRunner Vert. I am very pleased with the results, and he is a Mopar owner and knows alot about Mopars. I have attached a photo, and you can also see the finished project and talk to Charles at Ennis this weekend. PM me for his phone #.

Steve Enochs and crew in San Antonio just repainted my Cuda black and did an amazing job. I am from Houston, but let me tell you it is worth the trip. VERY reasonably priced, but more importantly, the level of work is top notch. They have about 25 Mopars crammed in their shop right now, but despite that you can still expect a reasonable turnaround time. PM me if you want a more specific account of how my experience went. Tell Steve that Steve Matthews sent you.

This pic is of the area where the roof meets the quarter. It is only grainy because it was taken with my iphone... FLAWLESS black paint takes talent.

I don't know Charles or much about his bus but I will say I grew up with his current painter and he is very talented.

Hey Charles I thought your shop name sounded familiar and I see you still have the ragtop, cool. Tell Paul to give me a call sometime. I am glad to see your doing all mopars now as I think you were doing modern work in Denton. Anyway goodluck!

Merlin,

There is a show this Sunday at Allen Samuels Northloop Dodge in North Richland Hills from Noon-5pm. You could come by there and ask around. Wish I could help you but you know about my current workload...

Bringing this post back.

Want to paint my car in Jan-Feb 2011.

Looking for good shop in DFW. Very interested in visiting Ward's.

No rust underneath. Oxidized heavily on top.

Mostly 1968 vintage paint.

"New" rust free inner fenders (not installed).

PO hacked holes for clearance and cut DS shock tower with the gas axe.

I also have a complete and clean DS quarter, door jamb and rocker. The door jamb and the front third of the quarter may need to be replaced due to collision damage that occured sometime (best guess) in the 70's. There will also need to be some trunk pan replaced due to the part cut out by PO for the race cell and some work on the home made wheel tubs to clean that up a bit.

Now for the questions. I want to paint the car something close to the original GG1. Possibly "Forest Green Metallic" on the newer GM models - the color is a very close match and readily available. (see pic below).

What I am looking for is good workmanship and clean. Not the next national show winner, but a little better than factory.

What should I expect for a timeline?

Fuel cell and "home made" wheel tubs. PO had a 1" box tube cage hanging through the floor. I made the metal sheet currently sitting under the cell.
