The Chrysler stock coils for point type and electronic "factory" ignitions are rated differently
The point type coil is rated at 42K volts, with a 76:1 turn ratio, 1.0 ohms Primary, and 12.7 K Ohms secondary
The Electronic "factory" ignition coil is rated at 42K Volts, with a 70:1 turn ratio, 0.7 ohns primary, and 11.8 K Ohms secondary
One of the reasons most people have ignition problems when doing swaps, is the use of incorrect parts, that either make the system perform worse, or encounter "gremlins", or just destroys componets,....and example would be to use the "factory" coil(s) on a Petronix swap, as most do,...the Petronix requires a 100:1 turn ratio, 3.0 ohms primary rated coil, thus the reason so many have problems with Petronix installations,....same goes for factory stuff as well....
