This is the result of half a dozen runs! The diaper was not lying of the headers but was very close. The headers were wrapped with asbestos header heat tape.

I am weary of buying an expensive diaper if the same thing is going to happen? I like the idea of a diaper but if this is going to be the result what's the point.

Are other SB guys with a stock K member having the same problem?

Was that an off the self diaper or one custom made for a small block in a stock K frmae?

It was from JJ performance, he said he had uses them in A bodys all the time? Yea you can get them in but there is very little wiggle room. HOLLYWOOD fought to get this one in place. I mean it goes in and from the top it will make tech happpy?

I bought a custom fitted unit from Taylor that is fully 7.2 cert with anti burn material on the outside and on my big block the diaper actually touches the headers in a couple of spots.Other than a noticeable brown spot, diaper is in it's second season and going strong. A little pricey but cheaper than replacing a standard diaper every few runs.

put a diaper on that fit ok, stupid me figured they wouldnt sell something that melts.
Moronic sfi should mandate wire attaching straps rather than nylon or other heat decomposing material.
Or somebody offer something like it.
Why is it when you want something you have to make it yourself.
Wanted grommets, tooling and spool of small wire rope.
Anybody have ideas?

I will have to look at a custom one once HOLLYWOOD tells me which pan we are going to use? HOLLYWOOOOOOOOD. Hollywood has been fighting a nasty bug since before MATS and is under the weather, we will get it sorted out soon!!

Ted we had to actually have the heat shielding material sewn onto the diaper when I ran the Hemi. Worked well it is stil on the car now withthe B1 but does not get near anything. I thought you were posting the damge from the wheelstand. When I did it I tore mine up too.
