My 72 Challenger with a BB, aluminum heads, aluminum radiator, glass hood, glass front bumper, aluminum wheels, full interior, nitrous bottle, cage, both door crash bars removed, was right under 3500 lbs with me in it and I weigh a whopping 165ish. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif)

I havent had achance to weigh my cuda yet. Twice i've tried to weigh it at a local scale and they were repairing it. Im curious as to how heavy this thing really is. Some of you cuda guys, what do you think my weight is or close to. Its a 74 cuda with 440. So far i have reduced some weight by a fiber hood, alum radiator, manuel steering, alum heads. I weigh 210 lbs. I was thinking 3800ish with me in it? I will try to weigh it in a couple of weeks.
That's probably pretty close.

Yeah, seems that the cua were a bit lighter opposed to the challengers. But why... ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shruggy.gif) My challenger w/ 340 & 727, stock interior, alu wheels, steel body, nothing removed already weighed around 3650lbs empty.

My 72 Cuda originally weighed 3600 plus with an all iron 383, P/S, P/B, A/C and automatic (not counting driver). After stripping the interior, gas tank, heater core, A/C box, fiberglass hood and rear quarter skins, single drag race seat and adding an 8 point roll bar, it was 3200 without driver. I had another 100+ pounds to take off with fiberglass fenders, Lexan windows and removal of window regulators when I sold it.

I started a thread on this exact thing a while back. I think the general consensus was that EVERYTHING being equal, the size difference between the two models was worth about 50lbs. Not that its even possible to have two completely identical Mopars. Gotta love 'em.
And my 70 340 (A-66 i think its called?) 4spd 8 3/4 manual steering PDB Challenger, with low options and fairly heavy rollers (cop rims and Comp T/A 60's) was around 3550 empty.
My current hotrod is a 99% survivor 70 Challenger, 6cyl, 3spd stick, 7 1/4, all drums, ZERO options (ONLY had wheelwell trim, now removed), no undercoat even. Its getting built this year, hopefully to be on the road this summer. Before i take a wrench to it i'm gonna scale it bone stock. This car is supposed to weigh 3006lbs. That is the lightest weight i've ever seen in print related to a Challenger, presumably a shipping weight for the most stripped stripper first-year made. Cant wait to see how close it really is.
