I had some info saved but can't find it now. :bawl:

Anyway, 15" tires for 'big' cars are not quite as common as they used to be, and it would be nice to find something less than $90-100 each. The Yokohama Avid ST was highly rated and pretty cheap but it has been discontinued.

What are some 15" tires that you guys use?

I had a set of 225 15s from Pep Boys on my 57 Chrysler.I put probally 15 or 20K on them.I even drove it in the snow a few times. They wore well handled good even at 75 mph.I think when I bought them they were about 60 bucks each.Rocky

What are they going on? A Fury? You can't go wrong with the BF Goodrich's..... I love the 255/60R15 series tire for the money. If you shop around, you can probably get a good deal. I always price a tire at discounttiredirect.com and see what that price is. Then, I call my local Discount Tire store and ask if they can match it. They usually are priced higher on the front lines, but they have always matched the price.....

Good luck.

Man you can't go wrong with the Firestone Firehawk Indy500. I have had a set- sticky- long tread life and around $85 each from Tirerack.com! White letter tires are becoming scarce like whitewalls.

I also replaced a set of BFG's with the Firehawks. The 500's are much stickier tires.

I run Cooper Cobras for the street, and M/T ET street drag radials when I drive to the track. Love both of them.

Mickey Thompson radial S/T.

I ran BFG's for a long time and won't buy another set.

For what car, what size and what are you looking for in a tire?

I have had the Firestone Indy tires on a Challenger and now on the RR.

I want my fair share

Sorry to have disappeared, forgot to mark this as a favorite thread.

Tires would be for a Dippy copcar and a 65 300, so 225 is the minimum width I'd want.

Sounds like the Firehawk and the Cobra have some fans. I ran BFGs for a long time and had good luck, but with them appraoching $100 each I wanted a slightly cheaper alternative. Sounds like their quality/performance/value etc has either gone downhill or been surpassed by other tires, too. Their letting font is about the best, IMHO, but perhaps I need to try soemthing new.

Keep the responses coming!
