Years ago I mentioned putting one of my racing Torqflights in a streetcar,my trans. builder said " it won`t like being in a slow heavy car" What would/is the shortcomings of a RACE auto in a streetcar? Has TurboAction V/B. Race conv. WON`T be used.

I put a Turbo Action race trans with stock converter and Cheetah valve body in my Lil Red Express truck back in the early 80's.Never had any problems with it.

WHY waste a race trans on the street... they shift hard and if its a manual shift you are always shifting it, there is a reason the factory didnt do it and in you big ride its just not fun

SHIFTING all-the-time ? ... if you have a ballsey motor ... no need to. I have a 62 Plymouth with a torquey 440, a 65 Hemi converter and a 2.76 gear. Street driving it normally ...I take-off in THIRD GEAR ...and YES with a 2.76 gear. It does not take-off like a rocket-ship .. but it keeps up with traffic fine. No ProblemO ....
