Hopefully the next vid we see is a nice straight pass with the 500 CID smallblock. I am really excited to see this. It's definitely gonna be something else! Thanks for sharing.

It's not so obvious, but there is a story behind this video/run. They had touched up the track with traction compound from a hudson sprayer just before the car in front of me. You may not know but that stuff is actually slippery when it is wet. I would think that for touch-ups they would appropriately mix in a higher percentage of alcohol etc. so it would dry real fast.
But, the car in front of me was sliding in a big S shaped fishtail. So, I was dragging my feet. Just long enough to get scolded by the starter, but not thrown out. He actually walked out on the track in front of me and pointed down at the start line and directed me forward. So I did my burnout and rolled straight up and fully staged. That is not my normal routine and I am sure I rolled in a little deep causing the red light and the camera man to lose me. Because just a couple seconds after my front tires stopped the tree was coming down and I launched.
But the pass was uneventful with perfect traction. Best of the weekend was the next day, Sunday morning in the only time there was no head wind. 11.22 at 115
Well the 501 will not even be able to be finished for a month or two and that is if everything goes well. PLUS, I need a 6 week window to install it since I will be building the headers. Since I am going to WOODBURN Mopar Day in middle of July, it will definately have to wait until after that. Maybe I will have it in for the Sacramento Mopar day?? I hope.

Love the Mag spread, and seeing this car in person myself at Sacramento last year, the attention to detail is awesome, can't wait to see it with the 501 this year.
