Thats a great idea. Where do you think would be the best place to find all those parts? I have had lots of MOPARS but never had to do this to one. I just got done changing the valve stem seals...the ones that were still there were like little pvc pipe caps. This was taken after the test drive with the new valve stem seals

Just did this last week on my 71 Bee
Glad i pulled the Valvebody - Like mentioned that seal was harder then dirt
So hard in fact , it started to wear a slight groove in the selector shaft itself - So i cleaned that up with a Scotch Brite Pad
Then again like mentioned , headed down to my local Tranny shop - He gave me for free , yes i repeat FREE , three seals to bee exact - Two selector shaft seals and the grommet for the pressure valve/kickdown shaft
The two selector shaft seals , one was a deeper/thicker metal case outer like the factory original , and the other was a Timken/National #8609
I went with the #8609 - It had a thinner outer metal case compared to stock , but the inner seal itself was much tighter on the shaft - It just seemed to fit/seal better , and i figured it might seal in a different location on that shaft because of the thickness of the outer case
Anyways to pull it back in on the Tranny (Tranny still in the car) i had the Exhaust close by , the tranny cooling lines close by , another words not alot of room - First i tried the Socket and C-Clamp , no such luck - Couldnt get it centered
My next try was so easy - 15/16" Socket on top of the seal , a thick flat washer on top of that with the correct length bolt going thru the middle - A few flat washers inside the tranny along with the nut , tighten the nut up , and that bolt and socket will keep the Seal perfectly centered and pull it through into the case in 30 seconds
Not a drop all week , what a beautifull sight !!!!!!!!!!! Man the mess that seal would leave after winter storage for six months year after year
