Sounds like there weren't too many in the Pro ranks that enjoyed the Zmax circus.

Personally I thought it sucked, even watching it on TV
and I hope that they got that out of their system and just
get back to NORMAL racing.... enough of the dog and
pony show..... if they want to be like NASCAR they
better get into something else......... JMO

Couldn't agree more but the problem is if it brings in more spectators/money then NHRA is going to be pressured to continue and expand the format. Word is that Vegas is planning an additional two lanes as well.

I didn`t care for it myself and behind the "a$$ kissing" from some of the racers, I don`t think they cared too much for it either. As hard as it was for me to focus on the racing I can only imagine what the racers were going through.

Well if the teams decide to not show up at that type
of format I would think that NHRA would HAVE to listen
and as a spectator I wouldnt care for it... its hard
enough to watch a pair of cars.... yeah I'm sure alot
of the spectators thought it would be cool to be at
the FIRST ever 4 wide but they soon seen it was a
pain in the butt..... again just my opinion

They listened to the Pro Stock drivers when they said we are not going down that track again.

Well, if nothing else from a spectators perspective it means you are going to be EVEN further away from the action, even more so when all the tracks that build four lanes are only using two at a time

I think its toast.
Didnt care for it at all.
good for large count 1200 car bracket race like norwalk type dilemas.
maybe get more than a couple runs in 12 hrs.

completely! The only problem is that Zmax doesn't have any big count bracket races! And I don't see Norwalk expanding. April fools joke aside!

I don't like the idea of using it as a points race, but it do think it would be cool to bring it back like the old Winston Inv. that they used to run @ Rockingham. Add a Div 2 sportsman race and i think you would have a great turnout and a pretty good show. I have heard from a good source that they are going to start running a weekly program of some sort to keep some rubber on the track

I have raced my share of four wide and most lanes look like the slick one you were on, Fred. NHRA has problems with 2 lanes being the same! Sorry, but I have never raced 4 lanes where the track crew could make them all bite the same. For the spectators it looks different, but for racing it did not work in the past. It is just impossible to make 4 lanes bite the same.

I thought it was ridiculous. Nice try, though.

I want to see the class racers race it . Even the super gas ,super street throttle stop and judge your opponents and your stripe .It would get it done quicker if thats the game .

A normal drag race involves two cars, one wins and one loses Four wide now has two winners and two losers Hopefully NHRA will take a good hard look at this before doing it some more, there is enough confusion to the average spectator on handicap racing in sportsman racing let alone the heads up Super catagorys breaking out

I liked it! I'm tired of Pro-Stock being determined by the reaction time, and I'd support anything to liven up the sportsman classes. Like mentioned earlier, good luck judging your opponent. I'm sick of Space Shuttle looking cars and the endless banter of sponsor names. NHRA is so far out of touch with the average Joe, who cares if they mix it up! Like Monster Trucks, Top Fuel will soon go the way of Pro Wrestling! Is John Force really much different than Vince McMahon???

I'd love to see Vegas do the same. Can you guys imagine the antics that it would create at the Turbo Poopra race they do out there. Hell, most of those guys stage with the rear wheels; it would be pure comedy to see 4 of them at once!

Later,

Greg
