I'm going to an engine build with a big flat tappet cam. 505 inch big block with 12:1 compression. Ported Edelbrock heads, Super Victor intake or maybe a tunnel ram.

I have several cams sitting here that I've never used including this TL304. I don't even remember where it came from or why I have it. Looks like it should do the trick but I've never heard anyone talk about it before.

274/282 at 050 with 590 lift and 108 centers. Probably a real close cousin to the Mopar .590 cam?

I put a TL304 in Keith's 421" SB (4.030" x 4.125")

304º/320º @ .020"
274º/282º @ .050"
.629"/.624" w/1.6
108º LSA +4º

Hand ported Edelbrocks, 13:1, Super Victor, 950 HP and 1 7/8" x 3 1/2" Hedmans

10.21 @ 131+ in 3070 lb. Challenger. (so far) Only 1.43 60 ft.

It will probably work pretty decent with 12:1 and 505" but, I'm no big block guy.

Well a 421 small block with Edelbrock heads is basically the same as a big block!

Thanks for the feedback, that sounds like a really healthy SB. My 505 motor is a little more mild combo but has more inches. I think the TL304 will work okay in it, probaby be a little nasty at idle.

Ouch!
Andy.....Please don't fuel that fire. Keith has been calling it his "baby big block" already.

It is faster than his 451" BB in the same car so, it must still be a SB.

Andy, I think that is the same cam I have in my 440 with standard port victor heads but if I remember right it has .590 intake and .609 exhaust lift. I run mine with 1.6 rockers though.

Seems to, I have really liked how it performed. Been running it for 4 years now, don't know how it would compare to a similiar roller though.

Maybe I caught it from you!

I have a whole Lista cabinet full of camshafts and can only remember the story on a few of them. I'm getting better about making notes these days but sometimes the notes are less than clear.

I actually threw eight camshafts in the dumpster yesterday, so don't blame me!
