Fred I goofed. Went out to double check mine & its a 3000 # winch. I remember now I went to buy the 2K & the 3K was on sale for $59.99 so I pounced on that. Still please with it & how it works. If it was something I used every day I'd get a nicer one from Warn or something. For the 3 or 4 times a year its all I need.

ive got the cheapy 59 one with the crank..
used it a bunch...
its slow..so i put a pulley with a swivel hook
and run the cable to the car then back up to a fixed point on the trailer..
it pulls twice as fast...with less aggrivation..
and its removeable..i keep it an old saw bag..
bought it in a pinch..but have been using it ever since..
pulls 3400 lb duster up the ramp and on trailer no issues..
fwiw.
cheapst.

Those cheep ones with the plastic cover work pretty well for the bux and how they build them, just dont open the cover cause the mouse will escape

Been using the 2000# HF one for at least 4 years. I got it for $49 with a 25% off coupon. Pretty good deal.

I easily pulled a chrysler 300 and a couple of Monaco/Polara wagons on my open trailer with no issues.
