Hello all,

Quick question here... I found two different companies that offer 8 point roll bar kits. Competition Eng. and SW Race cars. Anyone have some feedback from either? OR... another company I am not aware of that offers kits for a 67 Coronet? I'm doing some mods to my car and have a good feeling I'll be in the 11 second bracket - time for a roll bar!!

Thanks to all.

Where are you located in Wisc? Not much of a fan of "kits". I would have one made to fit your car.

I'm near the Milwaukee area. Not sure of who is around here, that's why I'm looking into a kit.

I got an S and W 8 point kit for my 64 Dart.A freind and did the install completely in about 8 hrs(not bad considering we have never installed on before). The fish mouth cuts on the bars were cut perfect ,but the other end of the bars wernt precut for the floor.Took some time to cut the angles on them without an angle finder, but was still real happy for the price.I think it was like $280 shipped to my door.Heres a pic of it done ...

Thanks. I do appreciate it. I also wanted to say thank you to those who have answered other questions I have asked in the recent past - you might recall I asked about what gears to use - 3.91 or 4.30s, suspension questions, converter questions, etc.etc... and everyone who has answered has helped trememdously.

I recently got in touch with Dr. Diff and he will be sending me some goodies next week after he returns from out on the road... can't wait!! Everything else is on its way as well... thanks for your help!

Here's my Coronet - a 8 year project that has been nothing but blood sweat and tears... but more blood recently... haha

Thanks again to all!

I went with S&W. Did not like the width on the Halo, would hit my head. Called them, talked to Scot he bent me another halo..shipped it out the next day...no charge for part or shipping!!!

Years ago I bought a CE 10pt kit for a Duster and the A-pillar bars weren't even close to working. I had a local shop bend me 2 that would.

I used a S&W kit in my 66 for years! Bang for the buck it was a good deal. I didnt realize the fit wasnt as tight as it could have been until I had a full cage installed in mine 2 years ago. It helped the overall rigidity of the car tremendously being tied into the sub frame connectors. It might be worth trying to find a local guy that can put a cage/ bar in that fits really tight and ties everything together nicely. My moly 12 point is lighter than my S&W 8 point bar was. It is still a good option though in my opinion.

Do you have any pics to show your roll bar set up? I'd like to see some to get an idea what it would look like. Thanks.

I am still looking for the old pics with the S&W bar. Here are a few of the new cage.

Another. In my opinion, you will be hard pressed to find a kit that fits as tight as a professional can do it. My S&W was no where near this tight. Look how tight the bars are against the door jam and roof.

Those pics look good... if you do have one with the SW kit, I'd like to see it anyway. Thanks again, I do appreciate it.
