Installed a transbrake over the winter and finally got the car running. Now I am pumping trans fluid out of the vent. The vent had been moved the rear of the trans and vented into the tail shaft some time ago. Never had a problem since changing the vent location. I would like to fix this in the car if possible. I have to work off jack stands and ain't getting any younger! Help!

You may have to much fluid in the transmission.I keep mine a pint low with a tranz brake.

If the MODS did their job I would not be hitting the notify MOD button. LOL

If I recall I think a hole in the parking gear needs to be pluged, it has been a while and I am not 100 % sure. others may know for sure.

This could be the problem?

i have the same problem. i cured my issue by extending the vent up to the firewall & fitting a mini k&n style breather filter. i told my trans man the last time he had the trans this was a prob. he couldn't work out what was wrong so my extended vent stays.

Thanks guys. I checked with the transbrake manufacture and he stated that the case wasn't vented properly. He said that the vent needed to be through the front pump, in the stock location. This confused me because everything that I have read tells you to move the vent to the rear of the case, venting through the tail shaft. John Cope has this info in his tech section on line. Mine is vented as shown. I also believe that my trans guy plugged the feed hole on the parking gear as directed. The only thing that wasn't done was a vent hole on the top of the case located near the back of the trans, venting through the main body. Is this the fix to my problem?

i always run a line on the vent to a canister with a k,n style filter on it to catch any fluid and not get it on the starting line on almost any car i build that is going to be raced. better to put it in a tank than put it on the track and not get to run. just my opinion

I've had a simular problem. My first vent in the new location was a sintered bronze type and it didnt vent properly.I changed to a more free flowing style A&A sells them but mine came from Mcmaster-Carr.Now I have a small puke tank w/a k & n filter and no more leaks.

Thanks for the info guys! Sounds like I need a vented over flow can. What size and what brand do you run?

I agree with moparmxz. Griners method of venting should cure your issue. I vented in tail housing as Turbo Action reccomended and oil would come out of vent due to vent being over park gear which would sling oil directly at vent. Venting in case keeps oil away from vent and I have never had an issue since.
