On a ralley dash, yes--its positioned between the heater controls and the column. No ralley--not sure!

Rallye dash speaker fader is by the heater controls. Non-Rallye dash speaker fader is on the instrument cluster bezel as shown in the pic.

Which are you looking for? Need measurements?

Non-Rallye measurements on a 70 Challenger only dash. Looks like it would be the same as the other E body Non-Rallye dashes, but I haven't measured yet.

Measurements are to center of hole. (sorry, I don't seem to have hole diameters on this one.)

measurements for optional clock on Non-Rallye dash also pictured. (right hand side)

The measurements are not correct. If I can find my panel, I will try to post a picture.

That's interesting... I still have the panel, and measured it myself. I'll try to double check it.

You'll notice from the pic that it's a panel for a rallye dash with AC controls, not quite the same as the rallye dash with heater only panel you posted. I wouldn't think that the fader would be located differently on AC vs. Heater only. Any help appreciated. Thanks for checking into this Snoopy!

hmmm, I looked at your pic of the rallye dash heater only panel again. I suspect the fader knob is in the same location as on this AC panel, but it looks like the AC controls on the AC panel are further towards the right to make room for the AC vent on the left hand side.

That would make the edge of the AC/Heater controls a poor point of reference for a measurement since it changes depending on if you have AC or not.

Still, I'll try to double check my measurements to make sure there isn't a typo or something.

Tav,
Notice the lack of the 2 locating holes near the 1/2" hole in your picture. Someone drilled that panel.
Sorry, this is the only picture I could find, I still haven't been able to locate my panels.

hmmm Well, I checked the measurements on that panel I have. They are as I posted, no typo. I see what you're saying though Snoopy. I got this panel used with a fader switch installed on it. It's possible that someone drilled it.

What locates in the 2 little holes? I'm guessing it's the bezel with the "rear speaker" wording on it. I still have the fader switch that came on this panel around here somewhere, but couldn't find it with a quick glance. It will take more digging.

When I hold this panel up against my dash frame, this fader hole does line up with the big round hole in the dash frame for the fader, but until I find the switch and actually screw the panel to the dash frame, it is hard to tell if the panel hole is centered over the dash frame hole. Should the fader switch be centered within that hole in the dash frame?

It looks like the circular depression on the back side of the panel (visible in my pic above) is the same size as the hole in the dash frame. Surely the switch doesn't belong centered in that depression, because that would move the switch up quite a bit. All pics I've seen so far look like the fader switch is centered top to bottom on the panel.

If anyone out there has one of these panels they can post measurements from, that would be very helpful. I may have to fill this panel and drill a new hole before repainting it.

I believe this is a pic of the fader switch that was installed on this panel.

The blue arrows point to the tabs that are used to locate the fader and bezel on the panel using the two smaller holes in the panel.

Bezel at 12 o'clock.
Fader at 3 o'clock.

The knob and bezel are available in reproduction now. A quick internet search showed Jims has them, not sure who else.
Possibly A B & E has them also ?
