I seen Smokey Yunick and crew.Smokey was wearing his trademark hat,white coverals and leaning against the post watching the drags.(19:09) The Chrysler RamRod driven by Herman Moser raced (22:00) As we all know this car gave birth to the Ramchargers engineering and race team a few years later. Arlen Vanke is shown a couple times in his wild ride..before he had a factory ride with Chrysler. Interestingly,GM (Ed Cole) and Chrysler (Tex) were present even though there was "suppose" to be a "ban" on factory racing. Thanks for posting the video.I really enjoyed it . I don't care who you are ..........when you are towing a rail on a single axle trailer with white walls behind a Cadillac station wagon , you are living the good life ! awesome post !

The cars have changed, the Safety aspect has definately changed, Styles have changed..... but the friendly attitude that we all share remains unchanged! My grandfather had a crane roller in a 300" 283 in 1959, had to bring his block to FL from TN to get it set up, at the time there wasn't a full body in the area that could run with his '55 Bel Air. What gets me is I hear people not wanting to step up to a roller cause it's "new" technology.

The old Chrondek timers with the nixi tube readouts were also cool... the time digits were indicated by a "glowing neon element" opposite the numeric digit - they were arranged in a circle running from 0 to 9, there was one tube for each position. A view of the generation that had everything to look forward to. 50 years later and the dream is gone. The video is as clean as their white tees and as pure as the air looks.
