I've never seen one offered, but would sure like to see some of the ones people have made.
1970 Plymouth 'Cuda #'s 440-6(block in storage)currently 493" 6 pack, Shaker, 5 speed Passon, 4.10's 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible 408 Magnum EFI with 4 speed automatic overdrive, 3800 stall lock-up converter and 4.30's (closest thing to an automatic 5 speed going)

Mt '75 Duster has those from the factory. They look like tubing crushed at each end and drilled. They go from the cowl to the fender bolts. If it was here I'd send a pic. Shouldn't be too hard to whip up a pair. Ron

Not really needed with a torsion bar suspension. The Fords that used them first had coil springs over the upper control arms. Cory
so ya saying they wouldn't help stiffen the body any?

Yeah my satellite has those too and I'm sure they're there for a reason. But I would also bet the factory pieces that only use 3 bolts for the whole design probaly leave a lot to be desired in terms of torsional rigidity.

Those aren't substantial enough to carry any load and are probably just there to eliminate a particular vibration and/or absorb energy in a crash. The holes are slotted at the fender end and will slip some given a significant load.

They have way too much adjustment in them to do much. I would think you would need something that ties into the upper control arm mount on the k-frame to really stiffen things up any.

It's almost always possible to stiffen things up but, if you aren't designing it to carry a specific load you might only be adding weight, high and forward.
I've got long range plans to get away from the T-bars in the Barracuda for header room and have been thinking of ways to help the forward support bars I've installed control the torque on the frame rails. Normally this is done by the transmission cross member. Most people just bolt in some aftermarket coil-overs where the factory shocks would be and forget about it. It would be nice to be able to tie the shock towers together in a straight line but the engine is in the way. Connecting them to a common point next to the wiper motor is most convenient and what is usually done.

The loads those factory installed bars were designed to stabilize from their attaching points on the fenders to the point on the cowl area are not torsional in nature, but rather loads of compression and tension. In that regard those bars have significant strength and do add somewhat to the overall reduction of front end flex, but not so much as to compromise the progressive crushing characteristics of the forces of a head on crash.
