O.k.,, I have to say a big thanks to all of you who have answered my dumb questions in the past, but I just finally got to make a run with my new motor/combo and I ran an 11.12@118.6 on my first pass at the Texas Motorplex! I have a street driven 68 Barracuda Notchback smallblock and I'm totally elated and on cloud 9! I'm drinking some cold beer to bring me back to earth right now, but thanks to all of you who have answered my numerous novice questions. Also, Ryan Johnson, your ROCK! You worked some magic on those Eddie heads. Oh, by the way, I only got to make 1 pass today, but hell, I never thought it would run so well. Also, Mr. Lenny at Ultimate Converter, you deliver on your product! My converter dam near broke my neck. You also rock!! I don't have a rollbar as this is a full interior 68 notch and I had many folks coming over trying to figure out what I was running. I can't believe this little small block stroker actually pulled on a 64 Dodge 440 w/Indy Heads! He has an awesome car by the way, but dam I am wound like a 10 day clock!!! Anyway, sorry for the rant, but again, thanks guys for all who have entertained and answered my novice(probably dumb) questions! Whew, time for another kobeer as we say in Texas!

Your trap speed is a hair low for the ET.....Was it surging and running out of fuel, running out of gear, or did you let out of it a little early?

Thanks for all of the kind responses guys. I never touched the motor, so I don't know what's left in it. Actually when it left the line it hit so hard I didn't even look at the tach,(I know, big time novice here) because it bit and left so well I was actually out of the "groove" and getting close to the wall I did not pay close enough attention to my tach. My neighbors (1 a Chevy guy about to be Mopar convert)were very impressed that the 'ole girl ran that well! I promise to do better next time, but dam it feels good when the track officials tell you that you have to slow your street car down!

Nice going. I was going to ask what your 60 was as an 11.12 @ 118 sounds like it must have really 60 ft good and hooked hard or like was said it layed over a bit on the top end. Ron

Well, usually if you run 1 pass on a combo & it goes 11.12.... You probably have a 10 in it with some more track time LOL Cars rarely run their best on the 1st pass off trailer... MPH is just hair low for ET I agree. Could be any # of things from air cleaner/hood scoop/airpan issues to fuel delivery, ignition etc.

More passes are needed for more data, before start speculating too much. My Road Runner runs 120-120.7 MPH @ 11.24-11.33 normally, & even then I still feel it is hair lazy going from 1000-1320, it lays over just a hair, I think it's on verge of fuel with stock 5/16 line & mechanical pump. I could spend days trying to fix that little top end issue to find hidden 1 MPH or so.... but not worth it, for street car.

I'm glad it's working better for you, especially now that the piston rings are right side up I'm sure you'll either get a 10.XX out of it with little more time on it, or you'll get kicked off track for lack of rollbar by that time.... LOL

You absolutely have 10's in your future. You will get tired of the track telling you to slow it down and will eventually put a roll bar in it. Once you have that taste of speed, you will only want to go faster. Congrats Darren!
