So I just picked up a one legger rear end (489 case) so I need to put a sure-grip unit in it.

Now as I am looking around doing research, there are so many different kinds.

TrueTrac helicial gear

power-lock

etc.

So what are the pros and cons of all of these? My car will not be a 1/4 mile king, mild 440 for cruising and some back road burnouts.

Which one would be better, last longer, be stronger, etc.

I am learning alot here

any thoughts?

Power Loc is a discontinued Dana product and is generally considered the best for racing applications and a great street piece.
The other factory option is a suregrip (based on the borg warner antispin design) and is also a good piece but not as good for all out..
There are a few aftermarket options like the tru trax based on a new design that locks some teeth together and should work OK, and the
Auburn which is a newer version of the Borg Warner antispin design...
