Hi
I'm hoping to find the experts on EL here...
I'm trying to get a friend's EL dash to light. He said it was "working" but the speedometer had grounding issues.
All I have is the dash and a transformer ("oscillator). The transformer has a two lead "T" shaped connector hanging off it with white and orange wires. The schematic shows power coming in on the white wire and outputs on the orange which connects to a white wire on the dash. I assume there's a case ground for the dash and transformer.
I'm trying to do some bench testing and wanted to verify I've got the in/out right before I apply power.
Any additional guidance would also be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

If nobody chimes in here, the web board over at 66-67charger.com should be of some help.

It has been a few years but, I believe
I rigged a power supply with a 12v battery feeding into a factory power transformer to give me the correct voltage,
then I would up pulling one wire at a time off the dash light circuit until it lit (except the one I pulled)
it seems any time one of these circuits grounds the entire dash goes dark, removing the ground will let the others lite and show the problem circuit.

Just make sure you dont get zapped by the power pack.It puts out high voltage.Usually the power pack goes bad.Rocky

I think, somebody is reproducing the power packs, non-stock looking, but functional.

Go to the 66-7 forum, guys there are building them and fixing clusters etc.
I agree with the power pack, should be putting out 230? volts.
