I have a '70 right hand drive Aussie Valiant (69 Dart) with 440/727 drag car weights about 3200 lbs. Can you please tell me what should I set the caster, camber and toe-in to. I seem to remember something about it in a Mopar chassis book, but someone has swiped my copy. I have just fitted Caltracs, new M&H slicks and raised the front and she seems to be all over the strip. thanks Ian

if you can't adjust in enough + caster find as set {for both sides} off set upper control arm bushings. When installed correctly another degree or more can be found. Caster will help the front wheels center and keep the car going straight. The A and b body cars seem to always be lacking enough caster. Raising the front end could also cause some Drive ability issues. Keeping the ride height level may help as well.

thanks for the info, I am going to the wheel aligner on Saturday. Even though I raised the front it is still lower than the back and the car is leaving the line level. I have been having problems getting the front to rise enough to put weight onto the rear. Ian

90/10 shocks 6 cyl torsion bars we usually have the front end lower with stock type suspension, when launching the inertia of the front end coming up helps plant the rear tires

90/10 shocks Also do all the measurements with the body UP 1" to simulate going down track
For clarification, he meant hold the front end up with a jack 1 inch over it's at rest height to simulate acceleration. That way your specs are ideal when you have your foot in it.

The car has 90/10 shocks, 6 cyl torsion bars, caltracs and Competition Engineering long rear shocks. Hope to go to Ranchero shocks next season. thanks Ian

Put the car on the wheel aligner. Camber is fine but castor is over -1 degree, no wonder it has been weaving all over the strip. My wheel aligner races subaru's in rallys, so is not a Mopar expert. He is suggesting to make the strut rod out of threaded bar and pull the LCA forward to get some positive camber. I am thinking that this is going to put strain on the torsion bar and inner LCA bush. I have ordered some offset bushes for the upper control arm but wont be here before my next race. Can I safely use the threaded rod until I can fit the offset bushes? thanks Ian
