On the driver side fender on the wheel well opening there is a bump on the edge about a foot up from the bottom that look like the fender is not stamped properly I know that there has been know work on them because that OE paint on them is their anyone with any idea why it's there?

A real 71 fender will have that and only on the drivers side.my 71 pack cuda has it and the build date is 5-27-71 .Some early build cars have 70 type stampings in the 71 headlight area. As for what the idea was on putting this in the stamping of the 71, maybe the first step in looking into an extra fastener for wheel housing splash sheild?
