The Valiant was wrecked in Nov. 2008. After fixing that damage, It returned to the track in Oct. 09, only to have the driveshaft (or something) let go in the first burnout. I just pushed it off the trailer and let it sit until yesterday.
Here is what I'm looking at after getting it in the air.

Looks like you have some removal and repair time and $$$$ looking at ya. But you have completed the first step, seeing what broke. Must have been pretty P OFF to wait 4-5 month's, I know how you feel.

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

The time I saw carnage like that was in 1984 at the Winternationals, first round of B/SA class eliminations about 100 ft from the finish line( I was behind about two car lenghts due to a .750 light ) #7 wrist pin pulled out of the stock piston breaking # 8 rod in half, broke the transmisson case and tailshaft housing into five different pieces, spit the front U joint out, put a hole in the block and oil pan, blew the starter out agianst the driver side headers grounding out the main battery feed from the trunk, melted the battery cable and new battery. Luclily the car didn't catch on fire The car went sideways for about 30 ft. before I could get it into nuetral and kick the gas pedal once to get the car to go into nuetral, luckily I was in the right lane and the car slid to the left. After the smoke and steam stop coming up onto the windshield I was able to get it off to the left side of the track safely and go back to the pits and get the truck, pulled it up onto the truck and took it home. I unloaded into the back shop the next day and didn't open the hood for three months, I would watch the fluid stain get bigger, throw some more greae sweep under it and walk away Oh well, if you race long enough your going to break some parts, is what I've been told anyways I hope your damage is not bad enough to make you not want to race that car anymore

Well Billy you know how I feel. It has ben far to long since we saw you at the track so get to it. Hopefully the boring day at the track gave you some motivation to get it ready. BTW dont you have another car too

I've had a couple days like that too. The last one sat for 5 months before I fixed it. The last 2 years all I've done is discover weak links. Dave

Similar thing happened to my years ago when I had a very bad clutch explosion. Towed the car home and couldn't look at it for 6 months. Oil puddle under the car just kept getting bigger and bigger. Sometimes I guess it just takes time to regroup - mentally and financially.

Billy:

I thought you bought that car for your daughter.

You should have brought it down to my house,in Casa Grande. I have a four post hoist, for that kind of work. I don't lay on my back anymore, if I do I can't get up on my feet again.

I don't have a clue when I will get my piece of crap Scamp out to the track again. It should be in the very low 11 secound range this time.

I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it.
