So the cam gear needs to go clockwise 2* correct.

Clockwise 1.5 degrees I hate it when there that close If you can get it to degree at 104.5 to 103.5 I would accept that Make sure and check the exhaust side after you have the inatke where you want it

Hi Cab burge this is a solid roller cam 258/262 @50.I came up with 102.5* with the dots lined up on the cam and crank gears.I remember you said they run better advanced.would you leave it or retard it.

drive it a while and the chain and gears will probably stretch and wear enough to retard it a degree or so.

Light travels faster than the speed of sound,,,this is why some people seem bright untill you hear them speak.

If you check it much more the chain will be stretched. As long as you keep coming up with the same reading each time.
I put in a new cam, chain & gears last season and when I pulled the engine back apart this winter, the cam was retarded 4.5* from where I set it.

I have won a lot of rounds and some races cutting .02 and .03 lights. I have also won with a .013 light with .002 over the dial, the other car cut a .009 light and ran .023 over It sounds like your running a tough crowd BTW, I use to strive for .00+ lights and dial .02 to .03 soft and try to drive the other end better, I lost a lot of races due to -.498 and .499 reds Oh well If you can cut .01 and .02 all day long the other guy will have to beat you( I wish could still do that ), especially in a foot brake no electronics class Congratulations on the performance improvement
