Here's my third project I need to get together.
I'm trying to CC the heads an piston in cylinder for the compression ratio. I was told that a simple cringe could be the tool for measuring.
As you can see I have a pretty good seal and the CC comes to 85 units.
after reading the Specifications on the Edelbrock
they come 80? The heads I'm working with have also been milled .010.
Has anyone had this kind of results with the RPM heads?
I don't know what may have been done to this engine before I started working on this engine.
different Valves? am I doing this wrong?
the head is level plexi glass flat on the head ect.
{which make for no fun} I still need to determine what cam was installed.

For the heads it needs to be at least 100cc capacity.

Nautilus Racing-
We use Superformance gaskets and Turbo Action converters/products.

I don't see whay it wouldn't work.

But it would require multiple "shots"

for me the most accurate cc liquid holder are around 1 foot long and super thin like 3/8 or 1/2 plastic graduated cylinder, you will have less minuscus=water dipping, and 10 times more accurate for heads ever cc counts.

The close chamber Eddy RPM are suppose to be 84.CC, the open chambers where suppose to be 88 CC. Once the heads have a aftermarket valve job done the CC will increase some, check several of the chambers on that head and other one. I have seen three CC variences on a lot of "stock" heads out of the box

this one holds 100 cc's just about right for the head but once I try to do the cylinder it'll take a couple
I'm not looking for exact # simply wanting to determine if I may need to install a thicker head gasket.
The block we are using for this build is back from Eugene, fit pistons .005 clearance for the J & E pistons.

Undecided on the type of piston rings so many choices?
Edelbrock of course recommends their gaskets
but no way I can see the thickness or what style they are.
One thing for sure the 1009's created quite a groove on the heads from head walk.
It took .010 to clean them up.

For aluminum heads on iron motors, I use FelPro's blue composite gaskets 1008 or 1009 depending on SB or BB. Zero problems even at 13.0:1 & 8,000 RPM, or street use into the 220-degree range. IMO, the different rates of expansion & contraction between aluminum & iron pretty much require the metal surfaces to be able to move on the gasket.
I can hook you up with a calibrated, medical grade glass 100cc burette if you need one; we sell them and other tools. PM me if you need anything.
