i had drum brakes on my car and after i would run the car several times down the track they would start sticking and smoking

put willwoods on the car now and they seem to be doing something similar. so now i'm thinking i have a proportioning valve or something causeing the issue but i'm not that knowledgable to know what it could be.

also, looking for holley 750 dp base if anyone has one. pm me please

Did you put on a diff master cylinder? Bigger bore? Does your porp valve have a pressure release?

I think your right on the porp valve, or you could be only using your rears?

I lucked up, WW up front, dr diffs setup on the back, org porp valve and no issues.

He can probably help you sort it out.

its a new style master cylinder. i dont think thats the problem. it just seems like pressure doesnt release in the back brakes

Don't know if whatever disc you put on the front allowed you to use the same rubber brake hoses or not. If so they could be bad and look like new on the outside and actually be collapsing on the inside. Happened to me and I put new calipers on and they still wouldn't release. Tried compressing them and here the hoses was collapsed on the inside. All I needed was new hoses....

If you went from drum to disc on the rear you can'r use the same prop valve. You will have to go with an aftermarket adjustable prop valve.

I do. Let me guess - brake pedal push rod was too long and not letting the compensator port open up to let the fluid back in to the master cyl. resevoir.

first thing i checked. that wasnt it.

i jacked the car up and with one light pump of the pedal, i could not turn the rear wheels at all for about 20 seconds then it was even hard after that.

the problem was the rubber hose from the hard line to the rear. i took it off and it looks like a solid piece of rubber. not collapsed, swelled solid. replaced it with a new one i had laying around for front brakes and it works perfectly now. hope my 1.38 60 ft times improve

Well then I was kinda right. They can deteriate inside. That what I was talking about. Collapse or swell shut.....

Yep, several guys i talked to kept saying collapsed hose but i held my hand on it while someone pumped the brakes and i couldnt feel nothing so i realy couldnt understand that. only reason i checked cut the hose is i figured it was cheaper than a propertioning valve

Really...Ive hit them hard at over 130 with ww on the fronts and dr diffs fords on the Dana as well as the big bore MC from DR Diff...oem porp. Stops on a dime, and my WW adjustable valve is sitting in its of box collecting dust.

Good to seee you sorted it out six pack, my next question was has it been towed recently...I had a ride towed one time and they hooked the rear axle and on the brake hard line, crushed them and made them lock and slow to release.

Glad you found the problem before it caused any major hurt.
