VP just introduced a new race fuel that is oxygenated VP 113 which will replace the 110 octane fuel and make more power.
you'll need to jet up about 2%-3% with this fuel.
I'm liking this alot for my 500 ci Indy motor.

from what I learned about the oxygenated fuels the down side is they are corrosive to your fuel system and if the car sits for any length of time one should flush the system. Also needs tin containers so the fuel stays fresh. that and the price helped me decide to go with C-14

that's one reason why I have decided against the 113, I can get it thru my son's sponsorship at a pretty decent price, but I think I will try the c12 this year instead.

unless im missing something, oxygenated fuels are being dispensed in all the gas stations these days and we are using oxygenated fuels in our daily drivers with no issues.
whats different about this oxygenated fuel.
for a all out race cars, i like the added power this fuel will make.

I've run 113 for about 1 1/2 years (its been around a while). I like it ok,it might be worth .02-.05.It smells funky! You dont want it to let it set in your fuel cell much over about a week. I just drain my fuel system if I'm not racing every week. Be sure your drum is well sealed, dont let it set in your fuel jugs for long. Some of its additives will evalorate and it may not peform properly.I havent seen any corrision due to 113. The Q16 (also oxygenaded)is a bit more unstable but worth more power in some applications. There is more reading at VPs website or dragraceresults.com

I played with it when it first came out.It did pick the car up about .05,but the extra cost over VP's other fuels (110 or even c12) make it not real cost effective for me.
They tell you you will need to jet up a few sizes, witch is true, but they neglect to tell you that you also need to richen up the idle circuit and give it more pump shot.
It took a couple weekends to get it where I wanted it,but in the end I went back to C12.

the pump gas has Ethanol alcholol, maybe the race gas has Methanol. Both types of alcholol will suck moisture out of the athomspere, unless it is sealed up tight. Methanol and water mixed end up making sulpheric acid, is what I have been told I used to mix Methanol(23%) with race gas along wth Toulene and Acetone, it needed be jetted up a lot, my fuel sytem was't good enough to allow mo fatten the jets up enough to slow the car down then hindsight is great I ended up blowing a head gasket, ruining the block and the head because it leaned out in the summer IHTHS

One of our racers found out the hard way, after letting his car set all winter with oxygenated gas his entire fuel system and $1400 carb were oxydized with a white powder corrosion and pitting.

IMO If your gonna run it, you might as well run alky.

I remember being flamed when I warned about leaving alky in your race car for long periods. Wonder how it worked out for some of those guys?
