I measured my block ( SB 340 ci ) the last Weekend with a friend and I would like to know what you think about these results. My block is 0.040 over and I would like to buy forged pistons from Diamond with 3.31 stroke. I need pistons with 1.804 compression distance to have a 0 deck with my eddies heads.
Thanks

They are certainly well within specs. I would get the piston skirts coated.

It's bena little while but I'd see what the pistons require for piston to bore clearance. I think the cylinders that are .0008-.001 large will have a problem after re-honing. IIRC Diamond likes them around .003" and I'd bet after honing you're .004"+. Thay may be fine, or it might be a problem. I know it will cause ring stability issues. If it's not going longer stroke i'd just have it bored and set up at +.060. I think the pistons are $100 more.

Well, art is art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water! And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now, uh... Now you tell me what you know.

So, I didn't yet receive informations from Diamond about my block excepted the price. They don't want my money so I'm going to contact Ross and J&E.
Is it always like this with Diamond?

I think this time of year when everyone is trying to get parts and info, you will find that all suppliers are very busy and it's not that they dont want to help you, but that they can't keep up with everyone they need to help.

You may find that JE and Ross are in the same predicament too.

I sent some inquiries to a crank manufacturer over three weeks ago, and I still havent gotten a response after buying a crank elsewhere...

P.S. I dont know why anyone has email, because no one I have ever contacted through email has ever responded...Calling them would definitely be better.

Try speaking with a Diamond Dealer (I get mine from Mancini) about answerring your questions. Everyone I know is elbows deep in work getting ready for the seasons that open in a little over a month. It's the busiest time of year for most shops so I wouldnt be too pushy.
