TRY fogging some water down the carb ... that might loosen up the carbon. Back when I had this issue ... a 400 in a duallie with lots of miles .... WATER INJECTION straighened out the situation directly. It was almost a MIRACLE how this process would actually CLEAN UP a carboned-up spark plug I threw in there just as a test.

MoparforLife Too Many Posts M Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 25,200 Upper Midwest	Only way that timing can effect the dieseling problem is that the timing can effect the idle speed and the most common cause of engine run on is too fast an idle speed. Timing in itself cannot create engine run on (other than effecting idle speed). All electrical power to the ignition is off.

No kidding? would that clean up valves and unstick rings? is it safe? Just use a squirt bottle or what? sorry to hijack but that sounds like good info.
