I see there is a new forum! My main question is if anyone on here is using the paxton NOVI supercharger setup for small block mopar A bodies, here's the link for more info http://www.paxtonauto.com/product.php?id=127I am looking into this for my 1967 barracuda, it has a 360 with J heads, headers, RPM air gap intake, 9.5:1 compression and a comp268 cam. Is that too much compression to run the setup? Just seeing who out there have taken the dive and put it on their car already and get some "real world" feedback. Thanks!

call Craig at Paradise wheels (California). He has a big selection of old Paxtons. He can hook you up.
Yeah but the old Paxtons do have their drawbacks. Finicky ball drive setup, limited flow and lack of product support. Since paxton sold out the design you can't get any help from them anymore, and tech info is a trade secret that the two companies that deal with the older paxton superchargers(paradaise wheels and cundn racing) flat out told me they do not reveal tech info. They want you to send your superchargers to them so they can charge you to rebuild it. I've got a SN2000 and it took a lot of digging to get all the info/specs on the internals I wanted. The regular paxtons only flow around 850cfm, mine with the upgraded impellor is 1100 (I think) and the $$$$$ VR-4 conversion kits for the paxtons do 1500. The VR-4 kit will do 15psi or more, but the other units will not pressurize above 10psi from what I've heard. For the price you can get good deals on paxton novi series superchargers and have a unit with a modern gear drive design and capable of putting out much higher boost levels. I would not buy another paxton SN series unit.

this is true, but for what he's looking for it will work. My SN had a modified impeller as aweel. and was fully capable of supporting my mild 440. And remember it's more about how much air it can push not how much boost. Boost is just the measurment of air restriction. I liked my SN, easy set-up, self contained and quiet.

True, it will work for his combo, especially if he gets one with the upgraded impellor. But by then the price starts to creep up to Novi territory unless you get a really good deal on one. Quote:

Quiet... where's the whine, need that supercharger whine! That's the whole point right!
And to answer your question, no that's not too much compression, however at that CR you will need an alcohol injection system if you want to run it on pump 93. Or run race gas. I hear devilsown makes good, affordable alcohol injection systems.

Here is where I am at!, I am going to get a 99 ram Power steering pump, and get the belt arrangement done next, I used a 99 ram lower crank pulley W/a custom spacer. I will do the inner-cooler next winter.

I was going to build & weld on a custom bottom for the origional air cleaner, add a inlet and use it for the air intake. but to much work and would be boost limiting!

What I thought about doing was modding my stock air cleaner to fix the aftermarket carb bonnet underneath/inside it. So the air cleaner assy would be just for looks, but I think I would like the look of that better than an exposed carb with the air hat on it.
Are you planning on running the ram ps pump off the serpentine belt for the supercharger?

What SN series do you have? I am considering adding one to the 440 in my Challenger, not sure if I can use the one I have on the shelf or if I should be looking to purchase a better one. I'm not sure if it's a SN60 or SN93, I don't have it at hand right now.
I believe the SN series all share the same bolt pattern, so regardless, upgrading later shouldn't be too difficult.

Actually all the paxton SN superchargers are basically the same (SN60, SN89, SN92, SN93 and SN2000). There were some slight changes in the way the internals bolt together, but they all ran the same 4.44 internal step-up ratio and they all came stock with the same impellor. There is an upgraded impellor available for the SN series superchargers, it's an upgrade you definitely want.
