Who makes valley pans for 440's to work with eddy rpm's? I know hughes has them. Will the indy work? Any others? Thanks Jamey

I have tried both the Muscle Motors Bulldog plate and the Hughes 2 piece, and neither one worked AT ALL!. Massive leaks, impossible to seal. The bulldog 2 piece cast cover was 3/16" from the heads on both sides. They said to fill it with silicone, I said they were crazy.

I've been very tempted to get the 440source one piece and flex it to get it in without pulling a head.

Here's the Bulldog 2 piece:

11.33 @ 118.46 on motor
10.75 @ 125.35 w/ a little spray

What's wrong with a stock replacement from Victor or Fel-pro?

those are designed for Indy heads which are wider & taller and sit on the edge of the cover your seeing. They actually seal quite well with our 440-1's

Looking at that valley plate, I'm thinking you could
slot the screw holes and slide it out more but will
need to fill the center area with silicone or weld
on the more lip.... just thinking

I have a homemade 2 piece and that's exactly what I did.

Why wouldnt you just want to use the factory Valley plate?
Much more simple, cheaper, and the heads doesnt capture the plate.

I'm not sure what I'm gonna use at the moment. I have no problem using the factory style one. I have several different intakes I want to try on my new motor, and thought it may be easier to use a valley plate and gaskets on the intake.

Check the fit of all the intake on the motor with out any gaskets or valley pan to make sure they will fit properly I use a feeler gauge on all four corners, top and bottom, write the actaul measurements on those corners and have a good machine shop cut the intakes as needed Don't be suprised to see .000 to .075 differences on all the locations If you choose to do that let us know your results

I made my own with the standard one that indy supplies. I have more time than money but it works.
