The attached pic is supposed to be of a 69 and older a833 tail shaft.

1st, is this a 69 or older tail shaft? I think it is, but want to be sure.

2nd, there's a bolt and orange bracket located near the three shifter mounting holes. Is this a factory bracket, or has it been added? I've looked at a few other pix of these shafts and I'm not seeing a provision for this bracket.

I'm needing to swap out the shaft on my 4spd because it's a 71 up B/E with the tranny mounting pad in the wrong spot to use for my 65 coronet. So I'm looking for a 69 and older tail shaft to swap out.

Just want to be sure I'm getting the correct part.

The orange bracket would be to retain the speedometer adaptor...

Okay, I found some better reference pix and the bracket mount is correct.

yes its the speedo plug clamp...looks to have a plug in the hole to delete it

is it a core plug or part of the casting not drill out?
