Ok going to order my cam today and still not sure which one.
Will be use in a 84 D150 4000# truck with 2.9 rear gears lockup 904 and 29" tall tires.
360 fresh bottom end 8.5-1 comp stock open chamber heads "1.88-1.60" valves. 1 5/8 headers w/2.25" duels and stock cast intake with small 4bl. This is my daily driver and Millage is really important.
So I will either get a Lunati VooDoo
60400==250in 256ex {208}-[213]@50 .454in .454ex 112lsa
or
60401==256in 262ex {213}-[220]@50 .454in .475ex 112lsa
This will be used daily to work and speeds range from 40-65mph. On rare ocassions it will be used to tow up to 7k and mostly highway when towing 65-70mph. So RPM range will be 1k-3k with most of it's life in the 2k-2.5k range. Help me make up my mind I need to get this on order soon.

slightly apples to oranges, but my 5th ave (3950lbs w/o me), with a stock long block 360, (probably ~7.9:1 or so) with a comp XE262, eddie 1406, eddie air gap, and headers, with a 3.55 rear and A500 (2.45 effective top gear) would get 15 in mixed driving. best I ever got was 18.5 on a all highway trip staying between 65-70.

the comp was a strong cam, I think either voodoo would be a good choice....the 60400 will probably give better mileage and a touch more bottom end, the 401 will probably pull another 500 RPM or so on the top end.

FYI I decided to stick to the old saying "when it comes to cams smaller is better" so I got the #60400 voodoo cam. As most of my usage will be at low rpm this should give some healthy torque down low.
