Anyone ever seen these on a mopar before? I know they're offered by vintique and specialty wheel but they only show the regular sized magnum, not the actual 17x8 wheel. Any input appreciated.

No one has ever seen or used these wheels? I know one guy showed a chally with AR's version of a billet magnum. Looked good but I had another guy mentioned that the 17x8 magnum wheel produced now is simply a 14 inch magnum center in a big rim.

I buy alot of steel outers, from one of the larger companies making them. They do make a 17" outer with a big drop to use a standard 15" center. IMO they look kinda bad..

They have also started making a 17" one with a larger ID to use a special sized center so it does not have that huge lip. I have not tried any yet, because they don't sell a center to go with it. It could be the ones you mentioned are using these outers and the other company is getting center stamped out by someone else who instead of by the same company as the outers.
(and that other company stamping the centers probably won't sell them to anyone else...or there would be more out there)

Personally I wouldn't bother with a 17" steel wheel...just too heavy. I just would (and do) go with two piece billet stuff.

I've only seen them a couple times. I'm thinking of buying a set for my Cuda. Here's a picture of a 71 Cuda with these wheels. I hope this helps.

Guy must be too lazy to peel the sticker off his tire before trailering it there

I want to keep the car with the stock look but I think the 14x6 magnums are just too small. My dad's buddy gave me a set of 285/75/SR15 BFGoodrich white letter tires that are nice and fat so I'll probably go with the 15x7 magnums.

IMO a 7" wheel is too narrow for that size tire. (and that is going to be a quite tall tire keep in mind)

you thinking 15x8 front and rear maybe? Or 15x8 rear and 15x7 front?

Thanks cudajoe,
that does really help since my RR's factory color is that same color lol. Those actually don't look bad. My only kinda lean is that I have to fat tires to put in the back. Thing with 71' RR's is that they really don't look that bad with larger wheels and lo pro tires.

I don't know the specs on that tire, but they probably recommended them to go on a 10" wheel. (most things over a 275 are..) but an 8" at a bare minumum and see how they wear.

7" up front is an easy one..

Again, check and see how those tires even fit...it's a big tire. In a 15", a 275/60 would be the most common size I've seen/used.

You can get taller 17" tires too of course if you want to go with the larger diameter wheel.

That's probably the hardest part is figuring out the right size which I'm sure specialty or vintique could tell me. I know the tires should fit fine with the fat wheel tubs in 71' b bodies.

American Racing has the AR 500, which is a Magnum look-alike in aluminum. Available in 15 inch and 17 inch. At this time I think they are special order custom offset only. They have catalog numbers for standard offsets, but nobody seems to stock them.

Check ebay for the deals.

Here is a pic of the 16-17 inch Magnum 500 wheel. This is a steel wheel , not billet. Yes it is heavy , but holds true to the orginal style of the wheel. The center part of the wheel has been increased to fit the 16 inch and 17 inch bands that are avaliable. These wheels come in 16 x 7 , 16 x 8 and 17 x 8 from Specailty Wheels.
I am there one of their midwest vendors.
